About Me

A Little Bit About Me ...
My name is Angela and I have always been a reader. I was the little girl who got more excited about the Bookmobile coming down my street than the Ice Cream Truck. (For those of you who weren’t lucky enough to have one in your city, a Bookmobile was a library in a bus-type vehicle that would stop in neighborhoods and people could go inside it and check out books, like from a real library!) I remember checking out all the Nancy Drew books at my Elementary School library over and over again. My favorite book as a kid was, Harriet The Spy. Then in High School I remember loving, The Westing Game. So it was fun when my son had to read it for school too, and I read it again with him. I am a mom to a wonderful son who is the light of my life. His name is Maxwell and when he was a younger, I loved buying him children’s books with the name Max or Maxwell in them. We really liked the, Max & Pinky books. Personally, my favorite types of books to read are mysteries. I have read every single book and play by Agatha Christie. I own them all, (yes, all 80 books and over 20 plays, plus her 2 memoirs) and have them on my bookshelf in publication order. (Yes, I became a little obsessed!)
Besides reading, I also love animals. My favorite animal is the OTTER, and I collect otter things and have them all around our house! Other interests of mine are photography, making jewelry, playing board games, playing cards/poker, being by or on any body of water, everything about England & France/Paris, staying up late, watching old black & white movies from the 1930’s & 40’s, The Golden Age of Hollywood, and Frank Lloyd Wright architecture. I am married and live in Minnesota but I hate the cold weather! If I could live anywhere in the world, I would move to the warm South of France along the beautiful Mediterranean Sea.
A Little Bit About My Blog ...
I have a college degree, but it is not in literature. I am just a woman who loves books! So, here on my blog I will be writing book reviews for all the books I personally read. Due to medical issues, I am at home a lot and love to read, so I thought, why not start doing a book blog and writing book reviews of all the books am reading? There are so many books out on the market to choose from, maybe my blog will be able to help people. You can get ideas about some books you might not have heard of yet, find out what the books are about, and decide if you should spend your money on them or not. Every book I will be reviewing here on my blog is a book I have personally purchased and read myself. (If that changes in the future, I will let you know.) I will always give you my real & honest opinions of each book. I will try not to include any major spoilers in my reviews. At the end of each review I rate each book from 1 – 10. (Most only rate from 1-5, but I felt that was too vague and not helpful enough for you.) The genres I will be reading are mysteries, cozy mysteries, thrillers, historical fiction, contemporary fiction, romance, rom-coms, autobiographies and YA. I do not like to read horror, science fiction, or graphic novels. I also don’t like to read books that are too violent, dark, sad, or depressing, or where one of the main characters gets sick and dies. Real life is too full of sadness and stress, and I want to read books to escape reality and be entertained or learn something.
One of my favorite quotes is by Mark Twain who said, “I didn’t have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead.” When you read my book reviews, you will understand why I love this quote so much! lol
