Opening Line: “Joseph would forgive her for changing her mind; he had to. They were family.”
Overall: Annie Maxwell is a single woman in New York City who suffered a horrible, devastating break-up when her fiance left for Singapore without her. Because of her heartbreak, she has created the most talked-about dating app in New York, Bad Bachelors. An app for women to rate the men they have dated, to help the women of the city find good guys who hopefully won’t break their hearts. But, the app has become very controversial with both men and women. The app has helped people, but has also hurt a lot of people too. Annie runs into her ex fiance, Joseph Preston, in the park one day, and the events that occur at that first encounter are quite funny! Joseph knows that the biggest mistake of his life was leaving Annie and he wants to make it right. So, when Annie discovers she has a stalker/hacker situation because of her Bad Bachelor app, she turns to Joseph for help. He jumps at the chance to help her and try and make things right between them. But, Annie is not in a forgiving mood at all and also does not want Joseph to know that she started the Bad Bachelor app after he shattered her heart. They both try to keep it professional while they work together to solve Annie’s hacker problem, but it is obvious that they are still very attracted to eachother. They soon also realize just how much they miss and love eachother. But they both were so hurt and their walls are up, so they are scared to try and be together as a couple again. They try to focus on being friends again first, but they both know that friendship is not going to be enough for either of them.
Ovations: The author excels at writing detailed descriptions that help you feel like you really know both the settings and the characters. She helps you paint a complete image in your mind creating what she is writing about. In this book, I loved both the multi-layered plot and the strong characters. All of the interactions between Annie and Joseph were filled with sexual tension, stress, pain, sadness, lust, chemistry, history and love. Everything felt believable and I could really feel all of their conflicting emotions about eachother. I like that in this book of the series, the two main characters already had a romantic relationship history and did not just meet. It gave the book more depth, made all the sex scenes hotter, and was a nice second-chances twist on the usual rom-com romance story.
Oh Well: An issue I had with this story was how highly improbable it was about what Annie decides to do with an enormous sum of money. That is all I can say about it without giving away any spoilers. But, I just did not find that money part of the story to be very believeable.
Opinion: This is the third and final book in the Bad Bachelor Series by Stefanie London. The first one is, Bad Bachelor, and the second is, Bad Reputation. (Click on those links to read my reviews of those books.) I really think you need to read the other two before reading this one. Being that this is the last in a series, it is really not a stand alone book. The books are about three single girlfriends in New York City. This third book focuses on the third friend, Annie. I liked this couple, Annie & Joseph and their sexy reconnection love story. I thought this book was an entertaining, heartfelt and satisfying way to end this series. Rating: 7 out of 10
